Laurens Jansen is a Belgium based artist who specializes in colored pencil portraits of hip-hop legends like Biggie Smalls, Rakim, Wu-Tang Clan, and many more. After a three year run as a professional basketball player for Gembo BBC, Belgium, he retired and began to focus sincerely on his art.
>His art has received significant acclaim on social media platforms and in several cases has been re-posted by the subjects of the portraits themselves (Snoop Dogg, Cardi B, DMX and Funkmaster Flex to name a few).
During a recent trip to New York, Laurens' work was prominently featured at the 30th anniversary celebration of Yo MTV Raps in Brooklyn. His display wall featured many legends who performed on stage at the celebration and was incredibly well received by hip-hop fans and artists both young and old.
